'Premam' piracy: three students arrested

Kollam: The anti-piracy cell of Kerala Police on Tuesday arrested three students in connection with the piracy of Malayalam blockbuster Premam.

Police said the students had uploaded the movie on to a website two days after its release in theatres.

“They had created a fake internet protocol address to upload the movie. The teenagers are linked with the pirated CD mafia. However, it is not clear how they accessed the copy of the film. Such details, including the involvement of others, will be available only after detailed questioning,” police said.

Alphonse Puthren-directed Premam, which ran to packed houses, which is expected to touch the highest record in terms of revenue generation in recent times, suffered a blow after the pirated versions went viral.
