Thrissur: State Police Chief T.P Senkumar Saturday said there was no fault on the part of the police in the Mannuthy accident.
“The motorcyclist didn’t wear helmet. He didn’t even have a driving licence,” the DGP told reporters.
Yesterday’s accident at Mannuthy in Thrissur had claimed two lives, including that of a one-and-a-half-year-old girl.
Following the incident, the local people had protested alleging that the accident occurred following the unexpected vehicle checking carried out by the highway police on the national highway.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said that vehicle inspections would be avoided during peak hours and high traffic in the state.
