3 new faces in CPI(M) secretariat

Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI-M State committee will meet here on Saturday for the first time after the 21st Party Congress, primarily to elect the party's new State secretariat. Newly elected General Secretary Sitaram Yechury will attend the meeting.

As per reports, the State committee will decide on the accommodation of veteran leader V S Achuthanandan in the party structure. He is at present just a special invitee at the central committee.

Yechury will be visiting the state for the first time after he was elected the General Secretary. The meet will discuss the internal issues in the party and the expansion of the LDF in his presence.

It is said that the stand of Yechury will be critical on the matter of V S Achuthanandan as he is waiting action from the party leadership for walking out of the 21st state party conference held at Alappuzha in February.

Sources in the CPI(M) said newly elected party general secretary Sitaram Yechury informed the state committee that all issues concerning Achuthanandan would be decided by the central committee.
