Comprehensive probe into Sunanda's death needed: Pinarayi

Kollam: CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan Friday demanded a comprehensive probe into the death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, in the wake of fresh autopsy report that she died of poisoning.

"An uncertainty existed till now from the time of death of Sunanda and what had happened has to come out," Pinarayi Vijyan told reporters here.

People of the country have the right to know the truth, Vijayan said, adding, "that is why a detailed probe is necessary".

A team of AIIMS doctors have submitted a fresh report to police on the death of Sunanda maintaining that she died of poisoning.

Sunanda was found dead in a five-star hotel in South Delhi on the night of January 17, a day after her Twitter spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar over an alleged affair with Tharoor.
