Advocate and activist Prashanth Bushan reminded Zee New Editor who wished the public a "fake news free Diwali" of the chip on the 2000 rupee note. Zee News has been criticised often for providing pro-BJP fake news. Bhushan took a jibe at the fake news released by Sudhir Chaudhary post-demonetisation that the new 2000 rupee notes shall have a nano chip.
"This jailbird who is the champion fake news purveyor (Nano chip in 2000 Re note fame), is wishing a 'fake news free Diwali'! He will need to shut down his channel!" tweeted Bhushan. Sudhir Chaudhary is closely associated with the central government.
'This Diwali burst the fake,' he greeted accompanied by an animation video.
Four years ago, Sudhir Chaudhary released fake news that the new 2000 notes post-demonetisation shall have a GPS nano chip for security. The news was then propagated by BJP supporters but was later proved baseless.
Chaudhary landed in controversy recently by alleging 'Muslim jihad'. On March 11, he defamed Muslims through the program 'DNA broadcast' on Zee news. He argued that Muslims are gaining influence in all arenas and waging jihad.
Following the controversy, Kerala Police registered a case against Sudhir Chaudhary based on a complaint given by Communist Party of India's youth wing,AIYF (All Indian Youth federation ) AIYF State Joint Secretary Advocate P Gavas.
