Woman biker harassed and attacked in Gurugram, hit and run sparks safety concerns

A woman biker rode herself home after a white sedan rammed her Aprilia RS 457 at high speed on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, with the incident captured on her action camera and later going viral on social media.

The rider, known on Instagram as ‘Rebel Wheels Sia’, was travelling with a group of bikers when the white sedan began following them.

In the video, Sia can be heard asking the driver to maintain a safe distance. The sedan, driven by Kalyan Bainsla, then moved from the right-most lane towards the left and swerved before hitting her bike. Sia fell and rolled several times on the road, while the camera recorded sparks from the motorcycle as it skidded.

Her family said Sia immediately checked herself for injuries and did not panic. Her safety gear helped limit her injuries, which were confined to her hands and legs. She then rode the damaged motorcycle home herself.

Her family said no heavy vehicle was behind her at the time of the crash. They added that Sia’s response reflected common post-accident safety practices, including checking for injuries, moving away from traffic when possible, seeking emergency help for serious injuries and documenting the scene.

Bainsla, who identified himself on Instagram as an international kabaddi player and member of the Indian rugby team, deactivated his social media accounts after the video went viral.

Police have formed three teams to trace and arrest the accused.

Manish, the owner of the white sedan and a resident of Palwal, said his friend was driving the vehicle. He said he learnt about the incident only after the video surfaced online. Manish, who said he serves in the Army and is currently posted on duty in Assam, said his friend had borrowed the car from his family on Sunday.
