Why Rahul Gandhi met "anti-Hindu" Corbyn: BJP asks Congress

New Delhi: After the recent meeting of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and British Labour Party leader MP Jeremy Corbyn, a war of words erupted between ruling BJP's members and Congress. BJP faction questioned Gandhi, asking whether he was endorsing Corbyn's "anti-Hindu" and "anti-India" views, The Indian Express reported.

However, Congress shared photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the UK opposition leader and asked, with a required edge, whether Modi was also endorsing anti-India" views when he met Corbyn.

Earlier, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju led the attack on Rahul Gandhi. He tweeted, "Again… Rahul Gandhi meets UK MP and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn who is known for his hatred and dislike for India and advocates Kashmir's secession. Or how long and how much one can go on against one's own country."

Later, BJP leader Kapil Mishra asked what Rahul is doing with Jeremy Corbyn, who is infamous for anti-India and anti-Hindu stands.

It was Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala who replied to the BJP attacks. He said that it is natural for political leaders to meet other leaders irrespective of ideologies. Surjewala produced a picture of Modi and Corbyn and tweeted, "Finally, may I also ask our media friends to identify the two men… and ask the same questions? Does it mean PM has endorsed Jeremy Corbyn's views on India?"
