Jaipur: Amid the fuming atmosphere in Rajasthan Congress, Sachin Pilot asked his own party-run government why BJP leader Vasundhara Raje was spared after allegations arose against her by the Congress itself during the last assembly elections.
In the conflict, which restarted recently after a break, between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Pilot, this is the fourth successive day in which the latter fired at the former, PTI reported.
When BJP in the Centre make false allegations against Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, cases against them are lodged, Enforcement Directorate summons them for questioning, and they are thus insulted, why Rajasthan government is hesitant in taking action against Raje and other BJP leaders involved in corruption, even after four years, Pilot wondered.
According to Pilot, he had exposed corruption done by the Raje government in 2013 -18, when he was the chief of the party, which was the Opposition in the state then. No actions were taken yet against them even after the Congress party collectively levelled allegations against the Raje government.
Addressing a Kisan Sammelan in Pali district, he expressed hope that required actions would be taken against them in the remaining 11 months before the next assembly elections in the state arrives.
Pilot said, "I do not want to work with a vendetta, but we have to take action against those whose corruption was exposed by us. We had constantly challenged the then Vasundhra Raje government, her name was alleged in every scam."
"We had promised that after coming to power, an investigation into the scams will be done, and the guilty will be punished, so that trust of people in the system is maintained," he said.
He further said that the Mathur commission was constituted to investigate the corruption charges against the previous BJP government (2003-2008), but actions against that are also pending.
