Video shows Muslim girl forced to remove niqab, sindoor applied to her forehead in Bihar

A video that has emerged from Bihar's Nawada district purports to show a young Muslim woman being compelled by a group of Hindu men to remove her niqab while she was in the company of a Hindu friend, with the footage also appearing to show her friend being coerced into applying sindoor to her forehead despite protests from both.

Despite the emergence of the video, which purportedly captures the incident, no case has reportedly been registered against the alleged culprits.

The video shows the group insisting that her Hindu friend apply sindoor to her forehead, a ritual traditionally associated with married Hindu women. As the pair protested, the men allegedly mocked their objections, declaring that the application of sindoor should proceed, with one remarking that any Muslim marriage rites could follow later.

Throughout the ordeal, the group continued recording the incident, claiming that the footage would serve as "evidence", while chants of religious slogans could be heard in the background.

According to reports, the harassment did not cease at the scene, as the men allegedly followed the pair while continuing to film them. Despite the emergence of the video, no police case has reportedly been registered against those seen in the footage.
