A recent video of Modi's convoy stuck on a highway in Punjab shows a group of BJP supporters coming dangerously close to the PM's car, reports Newsnine. The Prime Minister's convoy was stuck on a flyover for 15-20 minutes on Wednesday after protestors gathered at the other end of it in Ferozepur, Punjab. The PM had to return without attending the event and rally he had arrived for.
The recently surfaced video of the blockade shows a group carrying BJP flags and sloganeering 'BJP zindabad' while standing dangerously close to the PM's black Toyota Fortuner. The car then moves away with the Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel forming a shield. The group in the video was also reportedly heading to the same rally in Ferozepur and got stuck on the flyover due to the blockade.
Meanwhile, the union government and the Punjab state government are blaming each other for the alleged breach in security. On Friday, a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court asked both the governments to ask the committees set up by them to separately probe the lapses. The case has been posted for January 10.
