Video of burqa-clad woman robbing jewellery in Ayodhya at gunpoint goes viral

Ayodhya: A case of broad daylight robbery was reported from Ayodhya, where a woman dressed in a burqa allegedly looted a jewellery shop at gunpoint and fled with an accomplice.

The incident occurred at a store in Agarwal Complex under the Rudauli police station limits and was captured on CCTV.

According to reports, the woman entered the shop around 2 pm, pretended to browse jewellery, and then suddenly took items from the counter while threatening those present with what appeared to be a gun before escaping, Free Press Journal reported.

The footage of the incident has since circulated widely on social media.

Police said that approximately 26 grams of gold jewellery was stolen. Officials added that the suspects have been identified and efforts are underway to arrest them. They also indicated that the weapon used in the robbery may have been a fake.

The incident has raised concerns among residents about safety and security in the area, with many expressing fear following the daylight crime.
