VHP launches nationwide campaign ahead of Ram Temple inauguration, 2024 Lok Sabha Polls

Lucknow: The right-wing group, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), is reportedly working on a plan to mobilize the public across the country ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Bajrang Dal, a wing of the VHP, has already initiated Shaurya Yatras in various parts of the country, reminding people of the sacrifices made for the construction of the Ram temple. The 2,281 yatras planned to connect with more than five lakh villages, will serve as a precursor to the grand event set to take place in Ayodhya.

In a bid to engage the public further, a Padyatra (foot march) led by saints & seers is scheduled to commence next month. The Padyatra will traverse various regions of the country, with the goal of reminding people about the historical and spiritual significance of the Ram temple.

The VHP emphasized that this padyatra provides a chance for individuals to receive blessings from these revered figures without the need to visit Mutts and ashrams. Hundreds of saints & seers have pledged their participation in this padyatra, which is set to visit important towns nationwide.

While the inauguration date for the Ayodhya Ram temple is proposed for January 22, 2024, it is yet to be confirmed. Kameshwar Choupal, a member of the Ram Janam Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate the temple, but confirmation from his office is pending.

The trust, along with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other organizations, is actively involved in planning an elaborate inauguration ceremony.

Choupal further disclosed that a live telecast of the inaugural ceremony would be broadcast in approximately two lakh temples across India and overseas. The month-long inaugural celebration will encompass several events, culminating in the much-awaited temple inauguration.
