A Varanasi court has scheduled a hearing for February 15 regarding a petition that seeks an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey of all sealed basements within the Gyanvapi mosque complex.
The petitioner claims the existence of "secret cellars" within these basements, asserting the necessity of a survey to uncover the complete truth about the Gyanvapi mosque.
Madan Mohan Yadav, the lawyer handling the case, revealed that Acting District Judge Anil Kumar has designated February 15 as the next hearing date for this petition.
Rakhi Singh, the petitioner, holds the position of a founding member of the Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh and is a party involved in the Maa Shringar Gauri case, which prompted the ASI to conduct a survey of the Gyanvapi complex.
The petition specifically requests the ASI to survey all sealed cellars in the Gyanvapi mosque complex, situated adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Anupam Dwivedi, the advocate representing Rakhi Singh, mentioned that a map of the closed basements has been included in the petition.
