Uttarakhand CM to donate month's salary towards relief work

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has announced his decision to donate a month's salary towards disaster relief in the state, which has been hit by torrential rains and flooding that has taken the lives of 64 people so far and left 11 missing.

"In view of the natural calamity in the state, I have decided to donate my salary for the month of October, 2021 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. In this regard, instructions have also been given to the Additional Chief Secretary, Secretariat Administration Department to take necessary action," tweeted CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had taken an erial survey of the worst-hit areas after assuring the Uttarakhand government that any and all available assistance would be available from the Central government. Under the aegis of the Chief Minister, Uttarakhand Police in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Force (SDRF) on Friday started a disaster-relief camp in Rudrapur city of Udham Singh Nagar for the victims affected by floods in the area.
