UP policeman sexually harasses woman in Ghaziabad Park, takes money

Ghaziabad: A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida alleged a police officer sexually harassed her at Ghaziabad park.

The 22-year-old resident of Bulandshahr was with her fiancé in the Sai Upvan forest in Ghaziabad when two cops Rakesh Kumar and Digambar Kumar came over, according to NDTV.

There was another man in uniform whose identity has not been ascertained yet.

The policemen threatened to send the fiance to jail, if they were not paid Rs 10,000.

Despite the couple pleaded with the cops, they forced the fiancé to play them ₹ 1,000 through PayTM.

The unidentified man demanded ₹ 5.5 lakh for them to escape ‘dire consequences’.

Alongside holding them captive for three hours, the woman alleged, the policemen slapped her and officer Rakesh Kumar forced himself upon her.

The accused allegedly went on to harass the woman even after releasing them, by calling her up repeatedly and even showing up at her home.

The woman recorded Rakesh Kumar’s phone call on September 19 to present as an evidence for harassment.

When the couple decided to complain, Rakesh Kumar turned up at her house and threatened her.

After ten days of harassment and trauma, the couple filed an FIR on September 28, according to the report.

Police reportedly said that an investigation is underway to track down the accused who, according to senior Ghaziabad police officer Nimish Patil, are on the run.
