New Delhi: The Indian National Congress on Thursday morning said that its official Twitter handle has been locked in an Instagram post. On Wednesday late night the party claimed that the Twitter account of its five senior leaders, including media head Randeep Surjewala has been locked.
The party also shared the screenshot of the locked account in the instagram post, which shows that 'Your account has been blocked' because it "violated Twitter rules" regarding publishing or posting other people's private information without their express authorisation and permission".
Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party also asked " Modiji,'just how afraid are you?. The party also reminded that the party fought for the nation's independence, equipped only with truth, non-violence and the will of the people.

According to the party's claim, the Twitter accounts of AICC general secretary and former minister Ajay Maken, party's whip in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore, Assam in-charge and former Union minister Jitendra Singh and Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev have also been locked.
On Tuesday, Twitter informed the Delhi High Court that it has taken down the tweet posted by MP Rahul Gandhi, allegedly disclosing sensitive details and publishing photographs of the family of 9-year-old victim allegedly gang-raped and murdered in the Delhi Cantt area. The company also claimed to have locked Gandhi's account as it violated their policy.
Meanwhile, Congress has accused that Twitter of acting against Mr Gandhi's account under pressure from the government.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) took cognisance of Mr Gandhi's tweet and directed Twitter to act against the Congress leader's account for violating the privacy of a minor victim, mandated by the laws of the land.
