Hyderabad: A tribal woman in Telangana's Nirmal district found herself in a distressing situation as she gave birth on a desolate roadside due to a delayed ambulance response.
The incident unfolded early on a Friday morning when the ambulance, called after the woman began experiencing labor pains, failed to reach the remote village in a timely manner due to insufficient road infrastructure. A report in ap7am said the ambulance was late because it ran out of fuel.
Gangamani, the expectant mother hailing from Tulsipet village, was compelled to walk due to the ambulance's delayed arrival. Soon, her labor pains intensified, leading her to deliver a baby boy on the roadside.
Subsequently, several hours later, an ambulance finally arrived at the scene. Medical professionals aboard the ambulance promptly administered vital medical assistance to Gangamani and her newborn right at the location. Following this initial care, they were transported to the Pembi Primary Health Care Center.
Reports suggest that both the mother and the newborn are in stable condition.
