Ghaziabad: A salon owner in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district allegedly faced harassment outside his establishment after members of the Hindu Raksha Dal confronted him for not displaying his name on the shop’s signboard.
The incident came to light after video footage surfaced on social media on January 13. The visuals show a crowd gathered outside the salon, raising slogans of “Jai Shree Ram.” In the video, a man identified as Deepak, associated with the Hindu Raksha Dal, is seen interrogating the owner about the absence of his name on the board.
When bystanders attempted to intervene, questioning the necessity of displaying the name and urging Deepak to leave the owner alone, the situation reportedly escalated. A subsequent video, allegedly filmed the following day, appears to show a man outside the shop being grabbed by the collar during a confrontation.
Despite the visuals circulating online, the Sahibabad Police have denied allegations of physical violence. Speaking to media, police officials clarified the actions taken against the accused.
“We arrested Deepak under Section 170 BNSS (arrest to prevent commission of cognizable offences) but he was later released by the court,” a police official stated.
