Bengaluru: South Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya who is known for his strong Hindutva politics has not figured in the list of star campaigners for the BJP in Karnataka assembly polls.
The surprising omission of Tejasvi, who was a star campaigner of the party in Tripura, is raising eyebrows of party workers in the state.
The star campaigner list has names of leaders including PM Modi, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Devendra Fadnavis, Smriti Irani, Nirmala Sitharaman.
Tejasvi made headlines coming down heavily on Rahul Gandhi for his visit to the Nandini store, for attacking former chief minister Siddaramaiah as well as raising the security issue of Kannadas in Sudan.
The 32-year-old drew media attention a few months ago after accidentally opening the emergency gate of an IndiGo plane.
However, his co-passenger Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai termed that Tejasvi noticed a glitch which he got it fixed, and afterwards apologized to the passengers for the delay, according to The Hindustan Times.
Responding to Tejasvi’s omission from the list, Congress said nobody cares for him even in his state.
Tejasvi, who is a lawyer by training, was elected to the Lok Sabha at the age of 28.
