Gadag/Karnataka: In an unfortunate incident, three people got electrocuted to death here while erecting a huge cut-out of actor Yash on the occasion of his birthday, The News Minute reported.
Three others suffered serious injuries in the incident.
The accident happened in the wee hours of Monday Monday in Soranagi village near Lakshmeshwar town. Those injured are currently under treatment in a hospital.
Those who died were identified as 24-year-old Hanumantha Harijan, 20-year-old Murali Nadumani, and 20-year-old Naveen Gaji. Those injured are Manjunath Harijan, Prakash Myageri, and Deepak Harijan.
On January 8, the group of youths were trying to erect the KGF fame Yash, whose birthday was on the day. The victims didn't notice the high-tension wire above them due to darkness.
Local MLA Chandru Lamani offered condolences to the families of those who died and visited the injured at the hospital. The ruling government is planning to deliver compensation to the victims, according to District in-charge Minister H.K. Patil. The minister said that they had gathered information from the DC and SP. He will discuss the matter with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Police official, SP BS Nemagoud, said that a group of Yash's fans were installing a cut-out with an iron frame, which came in contact with the high-tension wire. They were around nine people. The condition of two injured people is critical, the SP said.
Meanwhile friends and relatives of the deceased demanded Yash to visit the village and the deceased's families.
