Hnahthial: After a stone quarry collapsed on Monday afternoon in the Maudarh village in Mizoram's Hnahthial district, a total of eight bodies have so far been found there.
The event happened in the Maudarh region of the Hnahthial district at about 2:40 p.m, ANI reported.
There may yet be twelve more trapped workers. Four of the 12 employees work for ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, and the other eight are contract workers.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, which consists of two officers and 13 workers, arrived at the location on Tuesday morning, according to the district administration. The search effort is ongoing.
According to Saizikpuii, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Hnahthial district, after the bodies have been identified, they will be taken for a post-mortem examination.
Saizikpuii earlier informed ANI, "As many as 15-20 labourers are feared trapped after a stone quarry collapsed in Mizoram's Hnahthial district. The incident took place in the Maudarh area in Hnahthial district at around 3 pm."
