Prayagraj: A group of school staff including a woman along with the chairman forcefully removed the principal in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, NDTV reported citing footage.
The 2-minute-20-second video showed Principal Parul Solomon of Bishop Johnson Girls School resisting the removal by clinging to her chair during the chaos.
A new principal was brought in following the reported multi-crore scam linked to an exam paper leak allegedly involving Principal Parul Solomon.
Meanwhile, Bishop Maurice Edgar Dan, representing the Diocese of Lucknow, claimed that a staff member of the school , Vineet Jaswant, included among those arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) for allegedly involving in the February 11 UPPSC Review Officer-Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) paper leak.
Bishop Dan added that Principal Parul Solomon was removed after her alleged involvement in the scandal came to light.
The Special Task Force arrested ten individuals including Yashwant , the exam centre administrator, after the paper was leaked by taking a mobile phone photo of it at 6.30 am on February 11 from the exam centre in the school.
The footage showed a group of people including the bishop breaking into the principal's office and attempting to seize Solomon's mobile phone.
Solomon responded to the aggression warning them ‘ Don’t touch, don’t touch’ just as a female teacher was seen grabbing her phone.
Following which , other staff members move a large table before pushing her chair removing from the office.
Subsequently, the new principal, Sherlyn Massey, was seen taking the seat amid applause and clapping from the staff.
Bishop Dan reportedly claimed that the new principal came to take over the position after Solomon’s termination; however, she allegedly locked herself up in the officer room.
The door was forcefully opened and Solomon was removed from the office, according to the report.
Bishop Dan reported that Solomon filed a case against the group for sexual abuse.
Meanwhile, Bishop Dan alleged Solomon embezzled ₹ 2.40 crore from the school while serving as principal.
