School principal in UP expels 5-year-old for bringing non-veg food

New Delhi: A five-year-old student was expelled from a private school in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha for allegedly bringing non-vegetarian food to the class, NDTV reported.

The principal of the Hilton Convent School accused the child of wanting to convert everyone to Islam by having them eat non-vegetarian food.

Footage showed the student’s mother engaging in a heated exchange with the principal—incidentally on Teacher’s Day on Thursday.

The principal claimed that the student has been continuously bringing non-vegetarian food.

The principal was heard telling the mother that her child wanted ‘to convert everyone to Islam by making them eat non-vegetarian food’.

The footage showed the mother and the student at the principal’s office as he alleged that the student wanted to destroy Hindu temples.

Her child, the mother said, had been complaining over the past threes of students in his class doing ‘Hindu-Muslim’.

To which the principal said that ‘You are teaching this to him.’

When the mother said her child was not allowed to sit in the class since morning, the principal said he didn’t want to teach the child anymore, adding ‘We have expelled him’.

Reacting to the video, Amrohi's Muslim Committee wrote to the district magistrate demanding to arrest the principal and suspend the school’s affiliation.

Meanwhile, Amroha's Basic Education Officer formed at team to investigate the incident and submit their report within three days.
