BJP’s IT cell in-charge Amit Malviya
New Delhi: RSS leader Santanu Sinha surfaced on Tuesday claiming that he never accused BJP's publicity wing chief Amit Malaviya of sexual exploitation of many women, adding that his post was misrepresented, Scroll reported.
After Sinha wrote a post on Facebook that read like accusing Malviya of sexual exploitation of several women, Malaviya filed a defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against him on Saturday, which stated that the nature of the allegations against Malviya was extremely offensive in nature and false.
Following Sinha's post, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate demanded the removal of Malviya from his post on Monday, pointing out his "nefarious activities" as raised by Sinha's post.
However, on Tuesday, Sinha claimed that his post never accused Malviya like what the notice says but expressed his fears that the latter would be drawn to the honey trap. He claimed that "unscrupulous" own-party leaders who wanted to cling to their posts after the recent disaster BJP faced in the Lok Sabha elections might attempt to trap Malviya.
He further claimed that some are circulating among the media the legal notice Malviya sent him to create pressure upon him and divert their responsibility from the disaster the party faced in West Bengal in the LS polls. He accused Jaganath Chattopadhyay, the de-facto president of the party in the state, of being the person behind the circulation of the notice.
He further said that he was not going to take down his post, which started all these, since he had not written anything untoward to malign anyone. Malviya could pursue his case against him, and he is ready to defend himself.
