RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat urges Hindu families to have at least three children

Lucknow: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat called for uniting and empowering Hindu society through vigilance against declining population trends, suggesting families have at least three children, while demanding infiltrators be "detected, deleted and deported."

Speaking at a social harmony event at Saraswati Shishu Mandir on Tuesday, Bhagwat expressed concern over falling Hindu numbers, urging an end to inducement-based conversions and efforts to bring people back to the Hindu fold. " There is a need to unite and empower Hindus. There is no threat to us, but vigilance is necessary," he said, citing scientific views that societies below a 3-child fertility rate risk disappearance. He emphasised marriage's purpose as continuing creation, not personal desires.

Bhagwat stressed Sanatan thought's philosophy of harmony, asking Hindus to overcome caste discrimination and view all as sharing one motherland. Temples, wells and cremation grounds must open to all without bias, he said at another Saraswati Vidya Mandir session, calling women—"matrushakti"—the household foundation, deserving self-defence training and reverence beyond looks.

He flagged foreign elements in the US and China undermining India's social fabric, urged community meetings to uplift weaker sections, and teach children careers serve nation-building over consumption. Families form society's base, shaping conduct through mother-tongue proficiency, patriotism and discipline.

Bhagwat cautioned against unchecked technology—AI, mobiles, TV—insisting disciplined use with time limits for youth. Laws like UGC guidelines must be followed, with constitutional routes for change. India will soon guide the world through its civilisational ethos, he predicted.
