The Mumbai High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by Priyanka Singh, sister of deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, seeking to quash the FIR filed against her for alleged violations of the NDPS Act and providing medications to her brother without a prescription.
Stating their acceptance with the proceedings so far, Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Manishinde said that the "truth would prevail" and that he was "satisfied with the verdict."
Rhea had earlier filed the two cases against both sisters of the deceased actor in September of 2020.
The death of Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly due to suicide has been a hot topic of discussion after the media frenzy it sparked drove the actor's former girlfriend Rhea into the spotlight as he main culprit behind his death.
However Rhea has maintained her innocence and maintained that it was in fact Sushant's sisters who had contributed to his declining mental health by providing him with medication without a prescription.
The court recognised that there was "prima facie" a case against Priyanka but not against Meetu Singh. The case against Meetu Singh was accordingly dismissed on Tuesday.
