Jaipur: BJP finds itself in hot water after allegedly using the photo of a farmer, Madhuram Jaipal (70), without his consent for its "Nahin Sahega Rajasthan" campaign.
The campaign aimed at highlighting the alleged auctioning of land by the state's Congress government claimed that Jaipal's land had been auctioned due to unpaid debts.
However, Jaipal denied these allegations, asserting that neither his land had been auctioned nor did he owe any money to the government. The elderly farmer expressed his dismay at the misuse of his photo on banners, causing confusion among his village and relatives.
Jaipal has now threatened to file a defamation case against the BJP unless they promptly remove his images from their campaign materials.
The controversy has added fuel to the already heated election season in Rajasthan, with political parties leaving no stone unturned to woo voters. The BJP's use of misleading information has sparked outrage and demands for accountability.
