New Delhi: After the blanket ban on roadshows, rallies etc., due to pandemic, and five states are going to elections next month, it seems Hollywood superheroes have landed in India for Congress's rescue, donning in its online campaigns. In the latest video on Twitter by Punjab Congress, 'Avengers' were seen but faces superimposed with Congress leaders, fighting against the aliens with faces of Narendra Modi, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arwind Kejriwal etc., NDTV reported.
The famous war scene in the Avengers movie is taken where Congress leader and Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi's face was edited over superhero 'Thor'. Rahul Gandhi' face was placed on 'The Hulk', and Navjot Singh Sidhu is 'Captain America', other superheroes from the movie.
Among the enemy aliens, former Punjab chief minister Captain Amrinder Singh, who formed his own party the Punjab Lok Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal head Sukhbir Singh Badal were line along with Modi and Kejriwal.
The video starts with Channi entering to rescue his party members and slashing alien throats with his axe (the weapon known as 'Stormbreaker' in the movie)
Punjab Congress had tweeted with the video that they will do whatever it takes to reclaim Punjab from evil forces working against the state and its people with hashtag #CongressHiAyegi, meaning Only congress will come to power. The viral video ends with Channi and others running towards the enemies and killing them.
Marvel Cinematic Universe's Avengers franchise has an enormous fan base in India.
The Aam Aadmi Party had recently shared a video clip of an edited version of the song 'Mast Kalandar' in which people's faces were superimposed with rival party leaders.
Punjab will be going to the polls on February 20 in a single phase. Counting will be on March 10.
