Ms Murmu, 64, a Santhal tribal hailing from Odisha, took oath as the 15th president on July 25. She is the youngest and first tribal to hold the top constitutional post.

She is the first president to be born after independence.

On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the Red Fort's ramparts.

In order to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to celebrate India's 75th anniversary of independence, Prime Minister Modi launched the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign last month. According to the Ministry of Culture, the initiative's goals are to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and instil a sense of nationalism in the hearts of the populace.

In order to commemorate India's Independence Day, he also invited the populace to raise the tricolour at their residences between August 13 and August 15.
