New Delhi: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa is charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl when she visited the leader with her mother.
Based on a complaint filed by her mother, the 81-year-old leader faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), NDTV reported.
The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on February 2 when she and her mother approached him to seek help in a cheating case, the report said citing the police.
The FIR reportedly said that Yediyurappa allegedly assaulted her after dragging her into the room; she somehow managed to run out and informed her mother, according to news agency ANI.
Yediyurappa's office denied the charges and released a list of 53 different complaints filed by the complainant in the past, saying the teen has a habit of filing complaints.
