PM slams Congress, says they took no interest in tribal area development

AHMEDABAD: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at the Congress saying that those who had ruled the country for a long time have never shown concern in the development of tribal areas because it involved hard work.

He added that initiated development projects in order to better the lives of people, and not just for the sake of getting votes.

The Prime Minister was addressing Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan rally after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 3,050 crore at Khudvel, a tribal region in Navsari district. "Those who ruled the country for a long time, never took interest in the development of tribal areas as it requires hard work," Modi said during his speech, the New Indian Express.

"Earlier, it used to take months for campaigns, such as vaccination, to reach forest areas where tribals reside, but now they are implemented in those pockets simultaneously along with urban areas," he said.

When the Prime Minister asked the participants of the rally whether the Covid 19 virus vaccine doses were free or not, they replied that they were. Modi said that it was a matter of pride for the state of the rapid development that has happened over the past two decades.
