Noida & Delhi report suspected monkeypox cases

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh's Noida had detected a suspected case of monkeypox in Noida, IANS reported.

On Tuesday, a 47-year-old woman approached the Health Department, and her samples were collected and sent to Lucknow in order to test. The woman is at home in isolation at present.

An official said that since the test results have not arrived yet, the case has not been confirmed as monkeypox.

Meanwhile, Delhi also reported a suspected case of monkeypox on Wednesday. A man has been isolated at the Lok Nayak hospital, the nodal hospital for the disease in Delhi. If he tests positive for the virus, this would be the second case of monkeypox in the capital.

So far, India has confirmed four cases of monkeypox, and three out of them were in Kerala, while the last one was in Delhi.
