The union government on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that no recommendation has been made thus far on mixing anti-covid vaccines.
Neither the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization nor the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 has recommended mixing the first and second anti-covid vaccines, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar informed. Scientific evidence on mixing and matching different vaccines is still evolving as the vaccines were developed recently, she added. Pawar was responding to questions on the possibility of mixing the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, studies on the same, and scientific evidence if such mixing would adversely impact recipients.
Furthermore, there is no specific recommendation from the World Health Organisation on mix and match of vaccines, the minister added.
