Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency has raided 56 places across 14 districts in Jammu and Kashmir. The raids are being conducted on the allegations of providing financial assistance to terror activities.
The raids were conducted in Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, and Rajouri districts with the help of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police. The raids included the homes of the banned Jammu & Kashmir Jamaat-e-Islami leaders. The J&K Jamaat-e-Islami is an independent organisation and is not related to Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
"During the searches, various incriminating documents and electronic devices were seized from the premises of the suspects," an NIA official claimed.
Raids were conducted across 14 places on July 31, as well. Police officials have informed that ten persons have been arrested so far in the terror funding case. Ten government officials were suspended recently for the same.
