Muslim youth in UP assaulted while taking photos

Three Muslim men were reportedly assaulted by a group in Pilkhuwa village of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh.

According to a video that surfaced online on August 26, a man named Aamir claimed that he and his friends Rizwan and Wasim were attacked while celebrating the purchase of their new bike.

He told local media that the trio had stopped on their way home to relieve themselves and take pictures of the bike.

Aamir alleged that a group of men approached them during this time and, upon learning their names, seized their bike keys and began beating them.

Aamir and Rizwan managed to escape, but Wasim was allegedly held captive and brutally assaulted. Reports stated that he sustained multiple injuries, including broken ribs, a fractured leg, and bleeding from his ears.

Wasim’s family has filed a complaint at the Pilkhuwa police station, naming four individuals — Deepak, Nikhil, Ajay, and Pankaj — as the accused. An FIR has been registered under Section of attempt to murder.

Speaking to Siasat.com, the Pilkhuwa police station SHO confirmed that an attack took place but stated that the altercation started after the men were spotted taking photographs in front of a house.

According to the officer, the attackers suspected them of being thieves, which led to the assault. The SHO also mentioned that Wasim is currently out of danger.

While Wasim’s brother alleged that the incident was an attempted murder, police maintained that some misinformation is being spread regarding the case. The investigation is ongoing.
