Mundra port heroin case: NIA raids multiple locations in different states

Following the seizure of narcotic substances at Mundra Port in Gujarat, the National Investigation Agency searched various locations in different states on Saturday. Searches were conducted in Chennai, Coimbatore and Vijayawada at the premises of the accused involved in the Mundra case. Several incriminating documents, articles, and other items were seized during the searches, and further investigation is underway, an official said.

2,988.21kg heroin was seized from Mundra, concealed in an import consignment of semi-processed talc stones. The consignment originated from Afghanistan and arrived from Bandar Abbas Port, Iran, the official said. A case has been registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
