New Delhi: As Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra enters Uttar Pradesh, many voices from the Right Wing group emerged backing the cause of Rahul’s Yatra.
Yesterday, Ayodhya Ram temple chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das blessed Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra for its noble cause of uniting the country. Other voices such as VHP’s Champat Rai to the Hanuman Garhi mahant to Ram temple trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri also emerged extending their wishes and support for Rahul’s Yatra.
Swami Govind Dev is also reported to have said that neither RSS nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed their displeasure over the cause of the Yatra.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, questioned Rahul Gandhi’s intention and ambition that he wants to derive from the Yatra. He said, if the cause was to unite the country, it should be reflected in their works and comments which should not abet the division of the country.
BJP sees the country above the party but for many, it was vice versa, Yogi said citing the statements made by Congress over the incident of Tawang and some other issues, terming them divisive that increasing the divide and encouraging the enemies.
Meanwhile, the National Conference supremo Farooq Abdullah joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi, and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) also joined Rahul’s Yatra on Wednesday, becoming the second opposition party to extend their support to it.
Other non-BJP parties in Uttar Pradesh to whom the Congress had reached out had welcomed Rahul’s initiative but decided to stay away, including RLD ally Samajwadi Party.
