Modi unleashes attack on Congress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) on Saturday, saying scams exploded in the name of infrastructure during the ten years of the Manmohan Singh administration.

Following the inauguration and laying of foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in Dehradun, the Prime Minister accused the Congress of making appeasement politics and dividing the country.

In his opinion, perversion of politics makes people dependent on the government for their needs and is a threat to their strength.

"Whatever schemes we bring, we will bring them for everyone without discrimination. We do not prioritize vote bank politics but prioritize people's needs. Our goal is to strengthen the country." said Modi.

He said attacking Congress: "For ten years there have been scams, scams involving infrastructure in the country. We worked twice as hard to make up for the loss done to the country and are continuing to do so even today."

In his speech, he lauded his party leader, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and other veteran BJP leaders in the state.

Uttarakhand, he said, is not only a centre of faith but also a symbol of hard work and determination, so its development is one of the top priorities of the 'double engine government' of the Centre and the State.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the then Central government (UPA) had built only 288 km of national highways in Uttarakhand in seven years, while the current government (NDA) has built a national highway of more than 2,000 km in the state in seven years .In his view, the previous governments did not work on the infrastructure of the border hill areas as seriously as they should have.

As a result of the reconstruction of Kedar Dham, he said, more devotees have come to see it and that it has provided opportunities for employment and self-employment to the people there.

Until the Kedarnath tragedy in 2012, 5,70,000 visitors had darshan, which was a record number, while before the start of the corona period, in 2019, more than 10 lakh people had visited Kedarnath.
