Patna: Unidentified people allegedly broke inside a local mosque in a village in East Champaran, Bihar, and vandalised it, causing significant property damage. The destruction, which happened at the Mangalpur village in Kalyanpur block, left signs that it was organised and most damages were inflicted in the interiors of the mosque. The incident has given rise to tensions, and local authorities deployed an immense police force to restrict untoward incidents, Siasat reported.
A video that appeared on social media on Friday showed prayer mats damaged, fans and lights broken and scattered across the floor.

The desecration of the mosques gave rise to massive outrage among Muslims as many of them demanded immediate action to punish those involved in the vandalism and prevent further untoward developments.
As a preventive measure, the local administration appealed to people to keep peace and communal harmony and curb the spread of misinformation that could trigger tensions.
Days ago, a 70-year-old muezzin (prayer caller) of a local mosque in Bihar’s Nawada city was brutally attacked and killed. He was returning from the mosque after Namaz.
