New Delhi: It has emerged today that a man stalked a college student and raped her near her apartment in Delhi last week.
The accused identified as Ravi Solanki allegedly threatened the 20-year-old with an explicit video before committing the crime, NDTV reported.
Solanki, who was arrested on Thursday, shot a video of the young woman when she was with her boyfriend in a car on July 7.
He followed the car on his bike and waited the boyfriend drop off her outside her apartment in Prashant Vihar.
Entering the apartment he found her and introduced himself as a policeman, showing her the video.
He threatened to post it online, before attacking and raping her right on the stairs and fled, NDTV reported citing the police.
The woman alerted her boyfriend of the incident and the couple approached the police.
As the attacker was unknown to the woman, police termed the incident a ‘blind case’, before sketching the man based on the woman’s description.
Eventually CCTV footage helped tracking down the accused.
