"New Delhi: A man has been attacked at the Singhu borders days after a group of Nihang Sikhs brutally murdered a daily wage labourer alleging desecration of Sikh holy book at the farmers protests site in Delhi-Haryana border, NDTV reported. A man from the Nihang community has been arrested, the report said.
Two videos circulating on social media shows victim Manoj Paswan lying in a hospital bed, narrating the ordeal he has gone through. He said that he was transporting chicken from a poultry farm when a man stopped him at the protest site and demanded chicken for free. He claimed he was beaten up with a weapon similar to an axe when he refused the man's demand.
Manoj says in the video that he told the man that he was a labourer and could lose his job. He could not give the chicken, and he was answerable to the shopkeepers and farm owners. He claims that he told the man to go to the poultry farm nearby and buy it directly, and he showed him the invoice slip as proof. But the man got furious and attacked him when he saw beedi (hand-rolled cigarette) in Manoj's pocket. Another man, who intervened in the scene, claimed that he was also attacked.
A daily wage labourer, Lakhbir Singh, of the Dalit community was killed at the site last week, and his body was strung to a police barricade with his hand chopped off. Multiple wounds were found on his body caused by sharp-edged weapons.
