Mumbai: Parag Shah, BJP MLA for Ghatkopar East in Maharashtra, has emerged again as the wealthiest candidate to run for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.
Parag Shah in his affidavit has disclosed net assets of Rs 3,315.52 crore with immovable assets being put at worth Rs 67.53 crore.
Shah's net assets disclosed in the 2019 assembly polls, were worth Rs 550.62 crore.
The disclosure shows that his assets marked a 575% rise over the past five years.
Shah, a realtor-turned politicians, founded Man Infraconstruction Ltd. in 2002 before joining politics.
He was elected as BJP Municipal Councillor from Ghatkopar East in February 2017.
Another candidate possessing huge wealth is Mangal Prabhat Lodha with assets worth Rs 447 crore.
Other candidates in the club of wealthiest include Pratap Sarnaik, Rahul Narwekar, and Subhash Bhoir.
Nearly 8,000 candidates have filed nominations for the upcoming polls in Maharashtra’s 288 assembly seats.
Polls in the state will take place on November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
