Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance intact in Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said his party's alliance with the Congress and NCP continues even after a section toppled the government and joined with BJP.

He was speaking to reporters after meeting with MVA partners at the state legislature complex.

Thackeray said his government successfully handled the pandemic. He added that the current challenge before Shiv Sena and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is nothing compared to the virus outbreak. It was the first visit to Vidhan Bhavan in south Mumbai since his resignation as chief minister on June 29.

Answering questions about the future of MVA, he said the MVA partners met after a long time and it felt good. "We are still together and we will tell you soon what we are going to do." There are questions about whether MVA will contest in the civic polls.

Congress has said it will contest the polls independently. Shiv Sena's future isn't yet clear as Thackeray and Eknath Shinde have filed petitions in the Supreme Court.
