Madhya Pradesh man prays in temple before throwing bombs at house

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur are looking for a man who has thrown bombs and fired shots at a house here after praying at the temple, NDTV reported.

Footage from CCTV showed the man identified as Anand Thakur attempting to intimidate residents in order to extort 'security money', police said.

The incident took place near the Bharat Krishi Samaj School in the Ghamapur area of Jabalpur on Tuesday.

Anand Thakur was seen walking, carrying bombs in both hands and threw one after the other at a house.

One of the bombs went off emitting clouds of smoke spreading from inside the house.

Before throwing bombs at the house, Thakur offered prayers at a nearby temple.

He was seen ritually folding hands and afterwards headed towards the residence of Maan Singh Thakur where he threw bombs.

Thakur is notorious for extorting protection money from the residents and businessmen in the area.

After residents filed a complaint at Ghamapur Police Station, a search operation is underway to track down Thakur.
