Lalu family crisis deepens after Rohini Acharya’s revelations, 3 daughters leave for Delhi

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family has plunged into feud and catcalls hours after his party’s humiliating failure in Bihar assembly polls.

Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya posted two emotional messages on social media alleging she was mistreated by Tejashwi Yadav and his aide Sanjay Yadav.

A day earlier she had announced quitting from politics alongside distancing from the Lalu family and left Rabri Devi’s residence in Patna on Saturday.

Three more sisters - Ragini, Rajlakshmi and Chanda Yadav also left for Delhi with their children on Sunday pointing to deep crisis in the family

Rohini took to X on Sunday posting two messages narrating the humiliation she suffered.

She said, ‘Yesterday a daughter, a sister, a married woman, and a mother was insulted. I was abused, a slipper was raised to hit me. I did not give up my self-respect or the truth. Because of this, I had to suffer humiliation. I was forced to leave my crying parents and sisters. I was separated from my own home. I was made an orphan.’

Her posts revealed how serious the conflict inside the family has become soon after RJD’s drubbing in the polls.

Meanwhile, Tej Pratap Yadav, who had distanced himself from the family in the run-up to the polls, has come out to support her sister saying those who insulted Rohini would face serious consequences.

He reportedly said ‘Yesterday’s incident shook my heart. I tolerated the insult done to me, but I will not tolerate the insult of my sister. Those who attack my family will never be forgiven by the people of Bihar.’

The situation raises question about how the feud in Lalu family would affect the party just as it is reeling from the failure in polls.
