Dharwad/ Karnataka: The principal, college president and a lecturer of a private college here were booked for sexual abuse of girl students, IANS reported citing the police's account on Thursday.
Police registered a case under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and have arrested two of the accused, the principal and the lecturer, while a hunt has been initiated for the last person.
Police said that the accused trio sexually abused two girl students over for four years, making certain offers. The survivors were sent for medical examination, they said. The matter got reported after the girls filed a complaint against the three accused, saying they raped them on the pretext of taking them to hospitals and temples.
Police probe into the matter revealed that the accused had sexually abused more than ten girl students of the college. The accused kept visiting the complainants' hostel rooms and stayed there till midnight, police.
The case is being investigated by the Dharwad Upanagar police.
