Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police Special Investigation Team (SIT), which investigates the sexual assault cases in which former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna is named, registered a fourth case against him, Asian News International reported.
When the previous cases registered against Prajwal were under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section for sexual assault, the latest one has been registered under charges of sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation of a victim and recording and sharing visuals of a survivor. The fourth case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and 66E of the Information Technology Act.
In the fresh case, three more people were named in the FIR. They include former BJP MLA from Hassan Preetham Gowda. As per sources from police, Preetham, Kiran, and Sharath have been accused of sharing images that Prajwal recorded while he sexually harassed a victim on a video call.
The survivor submitted that the recording of the sexual harassment, as well as sharing the visuals, tarnished the image of her whole family.
On Sunday, Janata Dal (Secular) MLC Suraj Revanna, son of former Karnataka minister HD Revanna, was arrested on a sexual assault case lodged by a male worker of his party. A case was registered against Suraj on Saturday under Sections 377 (unnatural sex), 342, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district. The survivor said that Suraj sexually assaulted and threatened to kill him at his farmhouse on June 16.
