Kisan mahapanchayat all over the nation, says Rakesh Tikait

New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said that the 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' in UP and Haryana will be extended across the country. Addressing thousands in Mewat, Haryana Tikait announced that the Kisan Mahapanchayat will be organized nationwide,

"The farmers protest against agricultural laws is a popular movement. It won't fizzle out."

He added that there will be no Gharwapasi (return home) until the target is acquired.

Meanwhile, another farmer protesting in the border committed suicide. His suicide blamed the Modi government for prolonging the farmers' strike.

Karam Veer Singh, a farmer from Jind in Haryana, committed suicide a few kilometers away from the protest site on the Tikri border.

"Farmer Brothers and sisters, the Modi government is giving one date after another and we do not know when will these laws be repealed," he wrote in his suicide note.

The Kisan Mahapanchayat was organized by 36 communities in Mewat, Haryana on Sunday. The Maha Panchayat in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, passed various resolutions with over half a lakh participants.
