New Delhi: The ministry of external affairs in India announced on Saturday that all Indians have left the war-torn region of Kharkiv.
MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told a media briefing that people from Pisochyn and Kharkiv should be cleared out in the next few hours. Kharkhiv is clear so far, he said.
"We hope to accomplish those tasks by today," the spokesperson said of the evacuation of students in Pisochyn, which is nearby Sumy.
According to him, the main focus now is on Sumy.
So far, about 13,300 people have been brought back to India via 63 flights under Operation Ganga. Since 24 hours ago, 15 flights have landed with around 2,900 people on board.
Bagchi said there are 13 flights scheduled in the next 24 hours.
In the early hours of February 24, Russia launched a major attack on Ukraine, hitting cities and military installations and threatening Indian citizens in the country.
A Nepalese national is also expected in India, the MEA spokesperson said.
