New Delhi: In anticipation of the upcoming special session of Parliament, set to convene in the newly inaugurated Parliament building on September 19th on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Modi government appears poised to convey political messages through the expected changes to the dress code of security personnel and secretariat employees.
One of the most striking changes is the transformation of the security staff's attire. Instead of the traditional safari suits, they will now sport military-style camouflage clothing, and to further enhance their capabilities, they will receive commando training.
Secretariat employees from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will undergo a wardrobe makeover. The traditional "bandgala" suit will be replaced with Nehru jackets featuring lotus logos, paired with khaki-coloured trousers, symbolizing a shift in style and perhaps political sentiment.
Marshals in both houses will also adopt a new look, with reports indicating the introduction of Manipuri or Kannada turbans, adding a touch of regional diversity to the parliamentary proceedings.
The special session of Parliament, scheduled from September 18th to 22nd, has generated considerable speculation about its agenda.
While discussions range from the possibility of officially adopting 'Bharat' as the country's name, omitting 'India,' to crucial bills like 'One Nation One Election,' women's reservation, and the Uniform Civil Code, it promises to be a session marked by significant changes and historic decisions.
